All regular full-time employees are eligible for eleven (11) paid holidays per year. Nine of these are designated by the company and two are "floating" holidays to be taken with supervisor approval.
Vacation | Sick Leave
All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for vacation and sick leave benefits.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for medical insurance effective the first of the month following date of hire. This benefit is provided by Aetna U.S. Healthcare and includes prescription benefits as well as both an HMO and PPO option.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for dental insurance effective the first of the month following date of hire. This benefit is provided by Cigna Dental and includes both an HMO and PPO option.
Basic Life/Personal Accident Insurance
All regular full-time employees are eligible for Basic Life and Personal Accident Insurance at no cost to the employee.
Short Term Disability/Long Term Disability Insurance
All regular, full-time employees are eligible for both of these benefits at no cost to the employee.
Worker's Compensation benefits are available in accordance with state laws to all employees for any work related injury or illness.
All regular full-time employees meeting age and service requirements are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. There is a discretionary employer match of 50% of employee contributions up to 8% of their salary with a six year vesting schedule for the employer match.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for educational assistance. SLI will reimburse employees 50% of the cost of tuition, books and laboratory fees up to $2,500.00 per calendar year.

Confidential counseling is available to all employees as well as members of their families or household for practically any reason.
Flexible Benefits Plan
All employees are eligible to participate in the Flexible Benefits Plan after successful completion of 90 days of employment. The Flexible Benefits Plan gives employees the ability to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care expenses and dependent care expenses (childcare) with pre-tax dollars, resulting in potential tax savings.
Above and Beyond Program
All employees are eligible to be nominated by supervisor or management in order to recognize special efforts in the workplace.
All employees are eligible for a referral bonus of $1,000 if someone they refer is hired and successfully completes 180 days of regular employment.
SLI recognizes employees at the following levels of service: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years.
All regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in this program. Goals are set, re-set each year on June 1, and will reflect business growth and change. The goals will reflect key areas of company performance and if achieved, payments will be made quarterly. Amount can vary from 0-20% of employee's annual compensation.
Employee of the Month
All employees are eligible to nominate and be nominated for Employee of the Month. Award includes plaque, parking space, comp day, and $50.00 restaurant gift certificate.
